Maria Poppen began as music assistant in June of 2013. She has been a member of COS since 1987 where she grew up playing her violin for worship services. Currently she also teaches science part time at Grand Rapids Christian High School. In her previous teaching job she was the chapel coordinator along with teaching many math, science and religion classes. She and her husband, Brian, have one daughter (and a second one on the way). They enjoy camping and hiking together as a family.
